Duluth hosts what is claimed to be the largest, free walk-through Christmas light displays in the world. It started in a guy’s backyard, but outgrew that space. A few years ago, it was moved to the city-owned festival grounds. A couple of preachers decided they wanted to proselytize at the display, and the organizer who leased the space from the city asked them not to do so. They sued, and Court said since it is city-owned park and open to public, not strictly private event, the preachers had right to proselytize. The next year, the organizer set up a free-speech zone for the preachers. They sued again and won again. Fortunately, the organizer didn’t quit his generous display over the issue.

The classical piece is “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J.S. Bach. It’s cool how their arranger combined it with “Joy to the World.” A great performance!

Thanks for sharing this with us Todd! I have shared it with my whole family and everyone loves it. I was just watching it again and saw this one suggested. It’s fun too, doesn’t have quite the meaning and atmosphere of the first, but fun nonetheless.
