I purchased 1967 cougar front bumper guards. He priced it with shipping. I paid then he asked for shipping, I paid then he asked for more shipping and tips money, I paid. Now he is asking for money to help his project and won’t ship my items. I am asking if anyone knows this person and is this his usual business practice.
Yes I agree and that is why I posted. There is a person who is backing him up. The one that referred him to me. He says the person is a good person and I should help him. I just would like to find out if this person is really a cougar business or as you said, rip off. The other community is mercurycougar.net.
There is no way this is legit. Does Johns Classic Cougars, WCC or NPD ever ask for a tip or money for their projects? Sorry to say it sounds like you crossed paths with a scammer.
I pulled up that address in google earth and see that it’s someone’s house. On top of that, there’s a VW, Subaru, Nissan and Dodge in the driveway. No cougars or even fomoco products anywhere to bee seen. Pretty sure you got scammed….sad to say.
Thank you, really appreciate you doing this. I will resign to the fact that I have been scammed. He keeps contacting me asking for money and the person that referrenced him is telling me to help him. Wish these people would leave us alone. All we want to do is have a community where we can share our stories and get help when needed. My car is with my body man and is waiting for the guards. I will have to tell him they are not coming…Thanks again!
Thank you… appreciate the support. I ordered from WCCC many times and just did last week, but there are no front bumper guards available, reason I had to search other areas.
Thank you, that raised my concerns immediately. One reason why I posted the information here. Also, when I paid, I did not pay him directly, he gave me 5 people names to Zelle the money to on 3 occasions. He is still asking for money today!
He said he has a return policy but I fear that is fake. During the pressure of sending additional funds he said he cannot refund because he allocated the part to me and its ready to ship. I stayed with him because I sought validation and one person did response saying he is legit and a good person. Recently I said to that person if he is such a good person then you give him the money he is asking for now and I will reimburse you. That person said he has no money and is waiting for his contact work paycheck to come. The referral person must be in on it with him. Its all fake! I lost $110.
Total scam. Its pretty common practice to see if they can fool you into small transactions then keep increasing the amount and frequency as long as possible. They see it as they gotcha a few times and will keep pushing until they realize you wont be giving in.
Sucks and it can be easy to fall into the trap. We need to be cautious of any online deal these days. I do not typically like selling stuff online unless its a cash in person deal or originates from a place like here where its easy enough to vet if its a legit deal or not
