Vintage Air Glove box insert

I had the Vintage Air installed into my 68 XR7, works great. However the original glove box insert is too big. The team has been trying to modify the existing insert to accommodate but have no answers. They even tried to make a Frankenstein version of it with no luck.

Is this just the price to pay for the new system or is there a compromise someone can share that they did?

I installed a Vintage Air system in my car over 25 years ago. I know it wasn’t the Sure-Fit system because that didn’t exist then. It was a Generation II Super Cooler Universal System. At the time I was able to modify my glovebox try to get some use out of it. Then I added RideTec air suspension and chose to hide the controls in the glovebox. Then I added a second amp to the stereo for the front speakers and also added that to the glovebox area. Needless to say. I have no glovebox anymore. I chalk it all up to being a small price to pay in order to gain all those other features. I do have a small cardboard box that my RJS Racing Lap Belts came in that I stow all the stuff that would be in the glovebox. It sits on the floor behind my driver’s seat and can’t even been seen. If I’m at a show I toss it in the trunk.

It’s almost like you’re building a “Catmobile”.

Very nice!
