Hey all! Does anyone on here collect vintage Cougar model cars? I recently purchased a small estate collection of cars and parts and these were included in the sale. I’m not much of a model car guy so I thought I would see if anyone here in the Cougar community might have an interest in any of these or want the entire lot for their collection. Would be happy to send any additional photos of anything anybody would like!

Never saw the AMT 69 428CJ model before. Is it for sale??? I remember the street machines 1. Love the Fat Cat model as well.

Yes, I collect Cougar toys and models. The IMC Cougar II is your oldest kit. The rest of the kits are from the 1980s to 1990s. AMT is still using the molds to produce 1969 Cougar model kits. The 1973 molds have also been used for many years. The models that you have are not very hard to find. They are mostly good for someone who is looking to build them.

Too bad you don’t have another 73 kit. Nadine was talking about how she would like something to match up close to her 72. I have been looking but everyone wants big bucks. I was going to buy one and build it to look like her car and present it to her. I’ll keep looking. Those resin 68 GT-E models are cool. Basically, you need to find big block Mustang/Shelby kits to transfer the frame and driveline to the Cougar kit. I have one of the resin kits, and a few big block Shelby kits (to build it out as a GT-E. I might be interested in another of the GT-E kit and build it as a small block G.

Buy one of the 69 XR-7 street machine kits as I believe that those have the sail panel XR-7 emblems molded on them. Plus you will get the XR-7 style interior. Put the 428 engine from the red kit in the street machine body.
