vinyl dye paints

Well since I was never able to get a title for the 68 xr7 I bought last year, I am working on my 67 xr7 which is just going to be a very nice driver quality car.
Here is my question/observation.
My interior is parchment color. I would like to recolor the door panels however I have seen some examples of parchment vinyl dye paint and it is just light brown paint.
The original interior color is actually two colors blended together so if you look closely at it you notice some spots are lighter in color than others.
My new seat covers are correct that way but how do you dye the door panels so they don’t just look spray painted?

Has anyone done this?
The 68 ( See ebay nightmare ) that I have has had the door panels vinyl painted and it looks fair, but not good. I would like something better for this one.
As I said, it will be a driver car, but it is also being restored on a rotisserie so I am not looking for fair.

Well, for the light shade of Parchment (Cougar Parchment is different from Mustang Parchment, BTW) I can recommend SEM’s “Phantom White” flexible paint. It’s a very good match. WCCC has it here or you can probably find it at your local automotive paint supplier. I don’t know what type of vinyl paint you used before, but I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the SEM products. I’ve seen the black version used on dash pads and door panels and it turns out looking pretty natural. Have also used the Phantom White to freshen up a couple pieces on my car and have been happy with it.

SEM is great stuff. I also have used Sherwin Williams “Ultra Interior” paint and it is really good stuff in my opinion. You need a siphon gun to shoot it though.

I used MU #641832 Parchment vinyl dye. It matched perfectly to my parchment interior.

Thanks
I will look into it.
