vinyl top and paint which first

So this spring I am hoping to get the the car painted. It originally came with vinyl roof which has been cleanly removed and I want to install back on. Also I need to get the headliner done as well. So should I get the vinyl top and headliner done first and then the paint or paint first then the top and headliner? Survey says…

I painted the whole car first then installed the top and headliner… it makes it easier not having to worry about messing the top up while sanding and priming around the edges of the vinyl in my opinion.

Agreed - Just duplicate ho the factory did. Vinyl top was not installed until the end of the body and trim part of the assembly process

I also agree, do the paint first. That way you can paint the roof which will add a layer of protection for the metal. Just be sure to allow ample time for the paint to cure before you cover it with vinyl.

As everyone said paint first and let it cure. To do it properly the windshield and back window need to be out before the vinyl top and headliner install. This will allow the paint to cover all those nooks and crannys to ensure a good level of protection on the metal.
