Voltage fluctation

Voltage is fluctuating when engine is running. The interior lights show it flickering quite clearly. I have a new voltage regulator, is the alternator the next thing to change? If so, is there a larger one available that can be simply swapped out?

If the new voltage regulator didn’t resolve it you likely have a bad diode in the alternator

Grounds. It’s ALWAYS grounds.

Good point on grounds and power connections too. I was thinking the voltage was flickering higher than normal. If so, that’s a diode. If voltage is falling from normal charging voltage think power and ground connections

It’s very normal to see some interior light flicker with the original electro-mechanical regulators.

No way to tell without a volt meter. Sounds normal.

I agree with mopauly1965, it’s always pore grounding
