Maybe the thread has been locked down by Helena and now only poll votes can be made? Seems plausible/reasonable if so.

I think the thread got tagged as having a “new post” anytime someone voted in the poll. I got a little tired of expecting to see a new post, only to find your same post.

That is the correct answer; every time someone casts a vote, it gets bumped back up to the top.
