Does anyone have a good 3 spoke rim blow steering wheel for a 70 Cougar? Someone changed mine out for the standard 2 spoke and I want to put it back right. I think I’m correct in saying they are the same for 70 through 73. I’m hoping some of my Cougar family has one for a decent price and not an arm and a leg!!! 
So I think that’s an XR7 steering wheel based on the wood emblems decal. Is that what you are looking for?

I’m looking for a factory 3 spoke rim blow steering wheel from a 70 through 73 Cougar. I think they came in any Cougar that was an XR7 or had the Decor package option. I have the Decor option but someone took my 3 spoke out and put the standard 2 spoke steering wheel in.
Mike B, was there any blackout treatment to the steering wheel or console wood grain on 70 Eliminators that you know of? I’ve actually seen a couple that were black but most I’ve seen are wood grain.

Eliminators didn’t get a blacked out steering wheel center pad or console panel ~ they were wood grain (same pattern as the Standard Cougar, afaik). However, in '71 the Cougar GT did get a blacked out steering wheel center pad (not sure about the console panel though). So a year late to the party 
Is there a difference in the wood grain pattern between the standard/Eliminator and the XR7? If so, do you have any pics?
The standard woodgrain and the XR-7 woodgrain are different. You can see the XR-7 style on the instrument cluster and clock surrounds in your first post. In post #6 it looks like the console insert has the standard style woodgrain. Perhaps you have other photos from that car that will show it better.

Exactly where I was going in my first post. I have a 69 rim blow, looks like an original wheel but it has the XR7 emblem and the burned wood look, not standard wood grain. I’m restoring/converting it and the wood grain decals John’s sells are 1/8” -1/4” too short. Frustrating.
For a 1970 wheel here is one for a decent price. It says XR7, but has the standard cougar wood grain and walking cougar.
That is not a 70/73 wheel. It has to be a 74 or newer. 70 through 73 never had speed control. It has been to long since I looked at a 74 and newer wheel to recall if it is the same wheel or not. But with speed control it may be a hassle to make it correct for the earlier Cougars.

I think 71-73 xr7 would also be the straight wood grain. Probably easier to find than a 70 straight grain rim blow center.
The rim blow wheel with cruise would be a neat setup to do to an earlier car… it wouldn’t be easy but it could be done.
Well I’m assuming the steering wheel in post #6 is what mine should have, so that’s what I want. If it’s a different color, I’ll deal with paint/dye to make it right. Just need the correct wheel and grain for what a 70 Eliminator should have had with Decor interior.

Yessir. With woodgrain on the outer rim as well.
The 69 wheel is the only one that will have the XR-7 emblem on it. All 70-73 3 spoke wheels will have the running cat whether the car is a standard or an XR-7.

Where were you three months ago. I am almost done converting my 69 “XR7” wheel to a standard wheel… walking cougar, wood grain…
The 69 wheel is the only one that will have the XR-7 emblem on it. All 70-73 3 spoke wheels will have the running cat whether the car is a standard or an XR-7.
