WANTED: 68 Cougar GT-E

From those pictures it looks like a pretty solid Cougar.
Steven

That it does.

Hmmm…
$25K for the car.
$30K for a new aluminum 427 from Shelby.
$8K for a donor parts car
$20K(?) for paint and body
$10K for stuff

$93K for a killer GT-E

I saw this car at Roush in late April. It looked very solid with poor paint. They told me Phil Parcells bought it. Looked like a good buy to me.

So back to the original request…does anybody have a GT-E even CLOSE to for sale, at this point?

My plan is a Barrett Jackson sale during retirement, but I’m not even sure I’ll have the courage to do that. It seems as time goes on, it is becoming increasingly rare to see any GT-Es up for sale. Just two years ago you could find one on Ebay about half the time! Now it’s crickets…

In reply to this car being sold. I have the vin stamped heads that came from this car, if Phil or anyone reading this bought the car and are interested in buying them get in touch with me. They are in perfect shape.

Brian you might be part of the reason for this (in a good way). The wonderful job you did on Gunner and it’s sale price might have brought the GT-E to the attention of many people. A few GT-E’s that went up for sale after Gunner were over priced for their condition and the sellers quoted your sale of Gunner as a reference. You set the bar high on such rare cars.

CatLover, Phil’s contact information is listed on http://www.CougarClub.org he is not on the forum. It would be ideal to reunite the heads with the car they left the factory with.

There are still deals to be had and cars to be found and restored. It’s all about the hunt.

The more cars we can see at 2017 events for the 50th Anniversary celebration the better our chances to keep our hobby alive for the next generation.

Well that was a start, and thanks  , but we’ve seen some pretty strong pricing for rare Cats over the course of the last couple years, especially. In my mind, the collector car market has just plain been very very good for the last handful of years. The “new” high bar is now at a whole 'nother level.

As i understand Phil P. bought the car already. Thats what he told me
I forwarded you offer about the heads to Phil by eMail.

I don’t know if Phil is going to Carlisle this year (usually is there)?

Carlton, if you are going might be a good opportunity -

Have you been following Dan’s red GT-E on Facebook? It is coming along quickly…page is entitled “GT-E for sale” but if you ask, there’s no evidence that it’s for sale, yet…exactly…

He is listening to offers over 145K at this point. But I’m not sure if that means it’s for sale
