Thank you  Royce

My GT-E is an April 8, 1968 build and had its original carb tag with a 7L8 date code, which equates to a 7A2 Holley Date code.

That was a high price on the core! Glad I already got my 4088 7A2 date code.

Royce, when I was looking for mine, I was in touch with Red, and he said there was also a 7OX (Octobe 67) dated batch of 4088s?

Mike

Could be, but I have never seen one. I used to have an 8C3 dated 4088 carb which would have been perfect for your car. Nonetheless, the one you have is perfectly acceptable, and is the most common date for a GT-E carburetor.

I did have the option to buy an 8C, but that was too close to the build date. 7A was a match for the carb tag.

Absolutely! But when i count all the hours watching and searching the Web for
this core in the last years it is okay to me.

It is not so easy to locate very rare parts If you are overseas as you know.
So sometimes i have to pay a long distance surcharge.
Finaly i have what i am looking for - so i am happy.

The Carb core is a big step ahead finishing the green eCar.

Joe

All I can say is congratulations Joe. It took me more than a year to find my 4088. The guy who had it had kept it for more than 20 years. They are very very rare!

Mike, i am patient. I takes 15 years to buy my first GT-E.
A lot of parts i get are still in shelf, not in the car yet.
Locating and buying is the on side, finding time to restoring the car
and get it done the other side
But its a hobby - no stress .
