Wanted: Date Code correct 4088 Carburator or Main Body only

Hey Friends,
for MyLadys GT-E we want a # correct and Date Code correct 4088 Carburator or Main Body only.
Car is Build January 68, so you, the Gurus know what the needet Date code is? „wink“-Emoticon
A complete 69 replacement 4088 GTE Carb is sitting in my shelf as donor.

So what does the 7A2 mean as far as build date? These carb.# have me baffled, I would think 1967 Jan. 2nd week.

The date code stamped into a Holley is Year/Month/Week. But since there are only 10 single numbers (1-9,0) they utilized A for November and B for December, so 7A2 is 1967, November, second week.

I just went through this with my GT-E. There are only 4 or 5 date codes on List 4088 carbs as they were made in batches. Mine is a March 68 build and the carb tag matched a 7A2 carb date code. There was also a batch of 70x date codes (October 67) that would be suitable if you could find one. Took me about a year track one down.

I think you meant October 67 not 68, just a slip ,not really important.

What would be a good date code for an April built carb?

There are only three batches of 4088 carbs built before an April 1968 GT-E. The possible dates are August 1967, November 1967 (like the one on eBay) and March 1968.

Good luck finding one for sale.

All I have left is 1969 dated 4088 carbs. I think I have two extras.
