Anybody use this technique or have seen it in person? It sure looks cool, although I don’t know how durable it is.
There is a shop right down the street from my place that does this, I have been trying to get him to do chrome, but as yet he doesn’t have the chrome. It’s pretty durable, because he does motorcycle tanks and such.
I’ve been debating finding a shop here to dip some in Carbon Fiber print, just need to decide whats expendable and would look cool in CF. I’ve seen cars with CF dipped wheels and they look awesome. They also make diy dip kits for small items.
There are videos of it on youtube. very cool to watch ~ almost hypnotic… “how is that gonna work? whoa! unreal!” LOL!

Next thing you know, 15 minutes of video have gone by!
Only 15??? C’mon now, we’re not buying that…
All the woodgrain panels on dash are water transfer - walnut
^ That threw me for a second O.O Then i saw you’re an Aussie lol got a couple friends over there in that are in Adelaide. Woodgrains kinda cool.
One of my friends does water transfer. He is in the process of completing his new shop. He has samples of the chrome finish that he has done. He has done a lot of carbon fiber patterns and camouflage for guns and ATV parts. I will get his sample of the chrome and post pictures of it. I’m going to have him do my dash bezel for my convertible conversion.
