Installing some vacuum lines I noticed that the water valve in the manual is installed in the opposite direction I installed mine. The flow arrow going both ways apparently fooled me. Does it matter which way the valve is installed? Easy enough to rotate as nothing is tightened down. 1969 XR7 351W 4V with AC.
I blow through the closed valve before installing it. Every valve I’ve tried that on has shown leakage in one direction and not the other.

An easy way to figure out the state of the vacuum motors is because the no vacuum failure mode is to go to defrost.
