Umm, lessee. “capitalzation”, huh? “propper”, huh?
Kind tough being a judge, you might end up being judged yourself!
You kind of remind me of that guy 1969XR7Vert, his Mother was an English major…
az muuch az i lik cougerz, glad i ditn"t enther
Looks like some of you are actually reading this stuff. I was wondering if anyone would call me out on what I wrote. And no, I’m not an English anything although some people think I’m somewhat anal, as in anal retentive but I don’t believe them.
I was just reviewing last years give away 1970 Eliminator and remembered it too had red velvet interior (or remnants of). Kind of coincidental both cars were manual trans, no option, rare performance Cougars with no pans. Next year is our 25th anniversary, will have to come up with a “special 68” as that was the year I was born and the year of my first 68. No, not a GTE but I did get a call from a guy named Lou who inherited a GTE in NJ last week and wanted $500 for it until a friend told him he should hold out for a little more… Anyone know of a driver quality Black Cherry GTE with white XR7 interior that used to roam the burbs of NJ? He is going to get me door data tag info next time he goes to his folks place in West Milford.
Hey, fuggedaboudit! I’d give him at least $600!
I bet your not interested in letting that go are you. Something like that could start a bidding war here. Sounds quite interesting and a cool combo.
Actually I will set it free on this forum to help the guy but alas I am hijacking my own thread! Will start a thread when I get more info.
Well if you can’t hijack your own thread, whose can you hijack?
For everyone’s information, my Uncle Guido said I have dibs on this one. You might consider buying it, but Uncle Guido may not take kindly to your having done so…
That is the thing you have to understand about an Uncle like Guido… he does listen to better offers.
He also seems to be fond of making people offers they cannot refuse. You do enjoy having working opposable thumbs, right?
Your Uncle Guido is a pansy. Does he know you post that picture of him on here??
Keep talking 'mo. This is just the kind of thing that Uncle Guido takes note of and remembers later on when he pays “a visit”. It adds “punctuation” to his way of “communicating”.
Anyway, to get back on topic here, I think I should win the giveaway car because my Uncle Guido says so.
I would like to see more pictures with the enteries. Show the garage, tools, parts, pass projects anything to convince us you have the ability to take the Cougar to a running driving car.
Yes, lets get back to the topic.
He’s a friend of ours.
Hello, my name is W. Landon Blevins. I’m 18 years old and a senior in high school. I’m in an advanced auto shop class at my high school and am a member of the Downriver Knights car club. I am truly a Ford guy at heart. I daily drive a 1978 Ford F-250 4 speed. I love cars and plan on making a career out of this love. My favorite car is a 67 cougar and this car would be treated right if I were to win it. It would never see snow or salt. I live in the metro Detroit area not too far from Dearborn where this car was built. I would cruise this car every Friday night with my car club and hopefully get it in to the basement or somewhere at the Detroit Auto Rama. As for a drive train it would be getting a decently built Ford motor, possibly a 429, 351c, 351w or maybe a 302 depending on how much of a budget i could get. I would put a 4 speed manual trans back in the car. Maybe a top loader if I get my hands on one. I would be taking this car down the quarter mile at Milan dragway and if i can get it drag worthy soon enough run it at the High School Nationals. A Ford 9 inch would be built for the rear end with 3.73 gears posi as it will be more of a street rod than a drag car but it will be taken down the track. I would probably paint the car black, blue or red with a black interior. Wheels would be Craigers or Ansen Sprints with street slicks or drag radials in the back. I Believe I should get this car because I would truly love and take care of it. I would own this car my entire life and it would be something that I would value as my favorite possession. Being a high school kid I dont have a lot of money and cant afford to buy a second vehicle right now so if I could win one that would be fantastic. I would get a job just to fund this project. Lastly I just want to thank you for your time and consideration of myself to win this fantastic vehicle. And I want to thank you for giving this vehicle to whomever the lucky winner is and saving the car from the crusher.

Hello,
As far as the direction for the car, I envision the Cougar as stock in appearance to the casual observer, retaining the classic color and vinyl top.

Isn’t this a Two-Tone Car? (ie no vinyl top but white paint) Just a note…
It is going to look awesome with that paint!!
