Been looking for an 8" trac loc with out paying through the nose, thought I would just bolt up a 9" since these are more plentiful in the trac locs and gearing is easier to find…
Anyone know what rear end will bolt right in with no problems?
67-70 Mustang or Cougar.

If I just buy the unit, all I need to do is put gears on, correct? Really hoping Don would just send me one… He has to have a stack of them.
You have to put on the gears and then set the gear mesh for proper contact pattern and backlash. This is not to hard to do if you have some good instructions and mechanical ability and a magnetic base dial indicator and inch pound torque wrench. Really recommend that if you have not worked with such things before you find someone who has and can help, or have a automotive machine shop with Ford rear experience do it.
'66-'69 Fairlane/Torino/Comet/Montego will also work, if you decide to go for the entire rear axle swap.
Too bad they didn’t have one for a 9 inch, I sold my 8 inch thinking There was nothing like this for it.
