What carb to get?

Hello.

For now i have a Holley with a tag says: D8PE-9510-HA, LIST-8412, 1622. Cant find much info of it.
It seems to be a bastard Holley not worth throwing money at.
The motor runs strong, but i noticed a small leak at the acc pump lever seal.

So which carb should i go for, Edelbrock, Holley or something else? Holley is a little bit pricy.
How big (cfm) carb is recommended for a stock 351c-4V closed chambers 1970.

Thanks Tommy.

The Holley 570 or 670 Street Avenger is a good combination

I really like my Holley 4010. It’s been a great carb. Too bad Holley doesn’t make them any more. Summit does have an upgraded version that is pretty cheap.

The fact that the new version has interchangeable discharge nozzles and idle circuit restriction makes it a significant upgrade over the old Holley.

I have the Holley 80457S on three of our cars and have installed them on numerous others. They work great for small blocks. Most retail prices are around $290.

In regard to this question, does anyone have any thoughts on a 351c-2V for a plain Jane '70 Cougar?

DOB

I have the same Holley carb that John listed above on my 351C 4V. A simple jet and power valve change made it work perfectly.

I just put in an edelbrock performer manifold and a holley 600. It runs great on my 302!

The 8412 shows to be from a 1972 Ford with a 429-460 engine. I’ve always had good luck with the vacuum secondary 3310 (750cfm) Holley on that engine.

Yeah, a vacuum secondary 750 is a good choice. You could go smaller, if you wanted to. But, the 750 will give you everything you want.

Same for the 2v engine.
Edelbrock or Holley? It’s a coin toss if you have a show car. Stock breather may not work with the Edelbrock.
