What color should headlight surrounds be?

I’m restoring my '72 XR7. Can anyone tell me the correct gray color the headlight surrounds should be? Do you have a name for the color and source? Thanks.

Usually that area is black or mat black

Good thing it’s a convertible. I don’t think 1 of them is going to fit otherwise.

For that silver/grey color I have used a color that as I recall was called Hammered Nickel in a spray bomb that again as I recall was a Rustoleum product. I have used it on the 71-73 left and right hood mouldings. A word of caution though if you use this color you have to use light coats. If you spray it too heavy it will be splotchy and look terrible.

Thank you. I found something close at Autozone, but I’ll compare yours and mine.

Well my memory was not quite right. Here is the correct information on the color that I used. It is a Rustoleum product, I had that part right. The color is product number 7277830. The proper name for the color is Metallic Matte Nickel. The UPC number is 20066 72778. I hope that helps.
