I am getting ready to install a front coilover k-member setup in my 68 project and it says, “Requiers use of a rear sump oil pan.” The motor is a newly built 68 302 and I have a 90’s 5.0 Mustang oil pan from an old project. Will this work? What pan gasket would I need as I am not sure how different they are between the years?
And I do know I will have to relocate the dipstick tube to the pan and figured on getting an F350 7.3 liter dipstick tube bulkhead fitting for that.
Any ideas or options on a better oil pan setup for this?
Is your k member the one that uses some Fox body parts, trying to remember or mustang2?
Uses SN95 brakes, spindles and fox rack.
I would bet your fox pan would work.
Just wanted to be sure because when you look for pan gaskets they say 68 - 85 and 86 and up. Wondering what the difference was as I thought the 302 block was essentially the same.
Don’t forget that you will also need a different oil pick up tube.

Got that to, thanks! Only need to find the best dip stick to use. I heard one from an older F150 or E150 that had the 5.0 or 5.7 will work as they may of had the dip stick in the oil pan.
