What Reproductions Should Be Done Next?

Wheel lip molding for sure.

What about upper shaft seals and boots for head light motors for the DIYer?

For the wheel lip moldings, wasn’t that done on machines that are not in operation today. Where would you find someone to do such a thing? Were they presses that did this, or automatic type benders?

I dunno, but Corvex makes tons of moldings including wheel lips moldings, just not in the profiles that are correct for our cars…

Dynacorn can and will do the 67-68 mouldings if we come up with tooling money. They would retail for about $150 per set of four and be of the quality of their Mustang wheel lips which is decent but not show quality. All we need is an investor or two!

69 and 70 quarters.

Where do they fall short of show quality? Is it the finish?

The did some for Chevy and the guys were very unhappy, they had too many press marks and scratches and stretch marks in them. It is hard to get good quality aluminum stock these days so it might have been a materials issue not a manufacturing issue. (Corvex = Dynacorn)

Where do they fall short of show quality? Is it the finish?

If you look at their 69-70 mouldings we sell you will see the finished is rather muted. The aluminum quality is not as good as original which actually works to the Cougar owners benefit from the soft material as you can easily massage them to fit a Cougar. If you try and use an original Mustang moulding it is rather difficult to bend the rigid aluminum in place.

Did you guys run into trouble getting the opera lights? Website shows in stock 1-1-2012, but I can’t add it to my cart…

Yup… Were shipped via fedex and they are MIA! I am pretty sure they will surface next week, no need to press the panic button yet as they were scheduled to come in Wednesday and it is only Friday.

67/68 Quarters??

How about some really good quality Hood Hinges? Are they not the same for both moostang and Cougar?

Lets put TABCO quarters out of business, 1967 through 1970

What about front seat covers for 69 Eliminators and 70 cougars with high back front seats that fits and looks correct? As you probably remember from a few years ago I was very stubborn when it came to the rear seat cover for my Eliminator, and after getting 4 covers made that did not look right you sent Distinctive industries an original seat cover so they could make a spot on reproduction (except for the comfort (wave material). Now wouldn’t it be great to have the front seat covers made just as nice and totally correct with the correctly made thick head rest area like original and the correct size pockets for the steel wire on the bottom part? If it is possible to have the correct Comfortwave material reproduced that would be even better! Then it would be a 100 point set. Then you might think there is not much money into this, but if more people are like me you might actually sell a few sets to those who has the not so correct sets sold until now

Another part I would have loved to see reproduces is the 67/68 center grille ornament. NOS ones sell for $400 and up, and are harder to find than chicken teeth :gaptooth: I really want one!

I don’t have an XR-7 but how about the overhead console. The cars I have seen for sale the covering on the console usually looks warped in the corners. Maybe even an overlay that could be dyed.

the "70 side marker bezels are needed but being a one year thing probably not justified??

The running cat rubber floor mats as well would be nice. Mustangs unlimited used to sell them and because sales were not what they liked they stopped having them made. If there were a big enough order or to find out who the supplier/maker of the mats are would be good. Does anyone know who the company is that makes the mats? right now the only ones close are the mustang mats that are the same but a mustang emblem instead of the cat. The other thing I heard was the repo mats didn’t have the nibs on the back to stop from sliding.

How about the running cat for the 70 center grille? They make the grille, the running cat background, but not the cat.
