I know this list is huge already and filled with great ideas. Here is another part that I think limits itself but would be good if it was offered, 1967 6.5 litre fender badges.

Hey Mike, I havent checked but will the one for the ‘69 headlight door work? I bought one to use on my fuel door but didnt think to check it against the front center grill
PS, Any progress on the ol’ car
Dan
That one is a for sure. Just need an investor at the $6 level that wants to tie up his money for about 2-3 years. Same cat also fits the 1970 Eliminator fuel door. Also need to redo the opposing 67-69 Cougar for all the guys wanting to do a custom application, another $6000 investment.
Yeah, the earlier ones are bigger and wont fit. I also got one for my fuel door, and am very happy with it, just want one as nice for the front of the car. If I have a spare 6 grand laying around, I would be more than willing to put money up for it. I just can’t have it nonaccessable for that long.
And no, no real progress on the car. I havent even started it in a couple of months, that is until about half an hour from now. I have been too busy with projects around the house and work.
Don, if the right facing cougar now needs to be redone, why? I see you are just out of stock, is this part now, just not being made anymore? If not who is the maker and couldn’t the molds be purchased from them and taken else where?
The right facing Cougar has not been available for years and when it was available the quality was not on par with the left facing cat and the price was too high. Three strikes and you are out… My thinking is WCCC should ONLY do top quality parts at reasonable prices. If you do not adhere to this thinking someone will come behind you and do it right. What you thought you were saving by cutting corners ends up costing you in the long run!
I think their is a legal problem making floor mats right now. With the lawyers having a hay day a couple of years ago with the Toyota mat problem Most aftermarket manufactures have been reluctant for the time being. I think that is the reason John hasn’t made another batch of them.
Haha, thanks Sal. I just took it up to the parts house for some stuff for the wife’s car, TWICE. Yipee
She didn’t want to fire up as well as she usually does, but it has been a couple of months. I still get all shakey (literally) with excitement every time I get out of it after a sideways run down the street.
to keep on topic, I am on board with the 70 front fender emblem and some good leather seat covers.
That could be and Im not sure of the name of the person I talked to at Mustangs unlimited. Im just going on what they said, that it just wasn’t worth there while for a small market. The mustang mats are still being produced, you would think the mustang one’s would be a problem as well.
I agree with the 69-70 sail panels at $50. I gladly paid Benoit $75 to make me a correct pair. There are a couple different styles of sail panels and they would also need to come with and without the courtesy light holes but if you could do the various iterations, I would think you could sell quite a few of them.
70 center grill running car is another good idea. This is one of those pieces that will complete the package since everything else for the center grill is reproduced. The correct 70 XR7 center grill backing plate would be another good idea.
A small market item would be sunroof cables since NOS are around $500 and in short supply. The sunroof motor would be another good reproduction but again, there were several iterations. You might be able to make one motor that would work with several styles though. Or just make a retrofit kit for the 68 with a clutch cable so it can use the direct drive like the 70 and later ones.
Correct 67-68 hood, front extension, center grill decklid and rear extension moldings would be good to reproduce and probably be a big seller if the price was right.
67-70 door panels and interior quarter panels would be a great reproduction but multiple colors and 8 or 9 variations of trim would make this a long term payback item.
Correct 69 & 70 arm rests that fit properly would be nice.
69 & 70 center caps with the correct shades of blue would be nice.
69-70 rear window that fits would be good.
Rear defogger wiring harness with proper resistance wire for the various years would be a good thing. Lot’s of people add this option and there are plenty of motors and grills available but the harness is often missing.
'68 INTERIOR DOOR PANELS
'68 INTERIOR COUGAR BADGING (HORN, DOOR PANEL, AND DASH FACE PAD)
'68 STANDARD CENTER CONSOLE PADS
I HAVE TO SAY IT AGAIN…WHEEL LIP MOULDINGS! At the prices we see on restored sets I think people would pay $100 each for nice repros. That may be price gouging but your investment would be returned quickly and a lot of Cougar owners would be very happy!
Well, since people have already called out quarter panels for EVERY OTHER GENERATION of Classic Cougar…
Nah, I understand; still a “slim market”, like the '73 tail light lenses.
And I think I may have figured out how to “glue” my left back-up lens back to the rest of the taillight lens, without it showing, too much, anyway… I hope!
Didn’t look through all the suggestions, but, how about 68 front side marker LENSES? (Didn’t notice them on WCCC’s site) Cracked one tonight putting it back on finally!!! GAAAAAAAH!!!
