What’s it worth

68 convertible conversion. 289 Edelbrock Airgap dual qual setup, PS,PB,5 Speed, new PB Booster and distributor, fresh tune up newer tires. This conversion was done right, unibody stiffeners front to back both sides with 2 side to side plates. This car has been driven in 38 states, to Canada twice and did a 27 day road trip from Fl to Chicago and headed west on Route 66 to the Santa Monica pier and back to Fl. Very solid car need a little tlc her and there but nothing major. Still a head turner. Will post pics if I can figure it out

If it is a well optioned head turner $60k. Send me some pics and I can post. donr(at)cougarpartscatalog.com

I must be out of touch I wouldn’t have thought a modified car would go for that much ?

Sounds like this could be Barry Margolis Cougar convertible. https://cccforum.discoursehosting.net/t/rip-barry-margolis/8410/1

That was my reaction, too. It was willed to Sonny Dolezel when Barry passed. It’s listed on my 67-68 conversion page:

Seen it at Carlisle. It was stunning then - maybe 13 years ago? It would easily cost $100K to duplicate.

Has a couple paint issues, was a N Michigan car that had some type of aluminum filler applied between the rocker and quarter, some blisters through the deck lid at the corner. I spoke with Eric Keough in Marquette MI today, he built it 20 years ago combining a 67 with a 68. Titled as a 68.

This car is headed to WCCC! We plan on getting the AC working, detailing the engine compartment, adding wheel lip mouldings, replacing several items in the interior to make it more of a 1968 look and dialing it in from one end to the other. Oddly enough I have never owned a Cougar with 5 speed. Looking forward to having it as a driver for awhile. I still have the neon sign I got from Eric, he built the car in the 90’s and is in Marquette MI.
