What's the Correct Routing of the Battery Cables on a 67?

Seen on a Mustang sight that this was the correct was to route the Battery Cables on a 67.

The Positive is easy to see from this picture.
The Negative goes behind the Battery down to the Ground Bolt on the Engine.
Is this correct?
I’ve seen where it’s been routed over the battery, but that must have been dangerous back in “the day”.
