Looking at AR Torq Thrust II wheels in 15x8 available in 4.5" backspacing or 3.75" backspacing. My dilemma is will 15x8 4.5"BS clear my front stock suspension from Scott Drake? Looking at 225 tires on the front.
Will 4.5" on the rear give me enough of the look I want or can I push it with 3.75"BS on the rears? I have 1" high competition springs from ESPO. Planning on running a 295/50r15 or 275, may try a 60 as well

Torq Thrust II - I believe they are 4.5 BS - 15x8 all around
This one is why I ask, at 4.5" it sits nice, but if I push them out to 3.75" will it look off and hit the quarter lip? I think this one gives me my answer. 1970 cougar by Dave Hamilton, on Flickr
After comparing the Death Sentence Mustang to stock Mustangs I see the rears have been flared, so I’ll just man up and order 15x8 with 4.5BS all around. Maybe when get into body work and a rear link suspension with coilovers I’ll revisit. Maybe I’ll start that now and wait another few years before I FINALLY drive my 69…
Scraped two of the 15x8 for 15x7 with 3.75"BS. My guy whose always done my wheels and tires highly recommended trying the 15x7 on the front first. He broke down the width vs backspacing like ive never heard, so i will go with what he says first.
Yea we’ll see how the fronts do in the 15x7 with 3.75. I explained the original 4.25 bs on 14x7 and my concerns, but he does this everyday. I’ll be the guinea pig lol.
I have a 69 and am going to get the 15" Cougar ralley’s 4.25 backspace with 275 60 15’s on the back and 235 60 15 on the front. I was going to go with repo Goodyear Polyglas F60-15 but the rear really needs more rubber to fill out the wheel wells.
