When was the Late-68 trunk lid introduced?

When was the Late-68 trunk lid introduced? This would be the one with the large rectangular hole for easier trunk latch installation.

I am replacing a rusted out early 67 version that was put on my G by a previous owner and can get a nice 68 version w/o that rectangular hole.

Probably looking at two different changeover dates, one for each plant in 1968.
