Where does the passenger footwell courtesy light mount?

On my 67 Standard, I have a passenger footwell courtesy light, but it was kind of half screwed into one of the glove box bolts and doesn’t really fit there. Where does it actually mount? Is there supposed to be a threaded clip over the big hole on the left?

It mounts the the right side of the glovebox however not to the glovebox hinge. There should be a hole somewhere on the bottom most section of the dash for the bracket.

The RH lower dash lamp uses a different bracket than the driver side. It’s about three times as long in order to clear the vent door.

The bracket uses a #8 phillips head self tapping screw to mount.

Thanks guys. I drilled it a new hole in that section beside the AC vent and used the type of screw Royce recommended. I don’t know if it’s exactly right, but at least it’s not hanging down by the wire anymore.

Late to the party but while I was under the dash I thought I’d take a photo of mine for reference

That looks NQR. The light should mount to the right of the hinge. The hinge bolts do not mount the light.

The light mounts just below the dash and to the right of the location where it is now. Uses a smaller screw.

Agree that is not the correct location. Its just to the right of the glove box hinge

Mmm… the Ford drawings show it in that location for a 67 - the rightmost screw of the glove box hinge

It goes under the dash, not in front where you would constantly bang your leg or knee.
Not to mention a bright light stairing at you.
