Which vinyl dye is the closest match for 2F Medium Saddle interior pieces?

I am trying to dye some of the original padded wind lace pieces out of our 1968 Cougar with the 2F Medium Saddle decor interior. They original parts have faded to an almost Ivy Green color.
I searched the forum previously and read that the SEM VP-5739 Medium Saddle was a good match. I ordered a can from NPD and after drying the color is more like pumpkin than saddle. There is no way that this color is a better match to the original medium saddle color.
Would you folks have any suggestions on which product to use that would at least be saddle in color?
Thanks,
-LF

I’ve read over several threads and asked the question to others in the industry here and there and the answer seems to all be the same. Nobody makes a close color match and you’re better off getting a custom batch mixed for best color matching results. That’s why WCCC doesn’t carry a Saddle dye in their inventory. I’m in the same boat switching my interior over to saddle and will be asking my local paint distributor to see if they can prepare some custom mixed SEM aerosol cans.

That color seems to match closest to the vinyl that was hidden from the sun.

The SEM “Camel” color is pretty good, though I don’t know if it’s perfect either.

Agree, Andrew. I used the SEM Camel on my console. It is just a bit dark but like it much more than their Saddle.

Curious, has anyone tried these products to see how well they match to the original Saddle?

SEM-15323 Palomino

Dupli-Color Medium Beige (As much as I don’t like their products)

I tried palamino, and it stinks.
The winner I have found is medium saddle metallic, which is sold through NPD. Unfortunately they are out of stock, but its really close.

I have had good results with the LVP “paints” from Color Bond. They are easy to apply and the colors are uniform once they dry. I changed the white interior on my 69 XR7 to Light Prairie Tan and it looks pretty good for old upholstery. They have several tan colors that might work. The charcoal color is an almost exact match for the black used on the dash pad.

I have an Imronel mix code, a local paint shop painted my console in 2017. I think that they made a very good job. The amounts are gram weights.
