I’m not about to cut up my steel hood to fit the blower, so fiberglass it is. Just hoping to hear everyones likes and dislikes of whichever outfit they went with. Its really too bad they don’t make a one piece fiberglass clip (that I can find) because a one piece tilting front end would be pretty sweet…but I don’t think its in the cards.
Some of my friends got the one piece tilt front end from MAS about 15 years ago. It is typical of the fiberglass parts that are available. Very thick, need lots of work, don’t save much weight. The main savings in weight was due to the fiberglass grille replacing the heavy stock grilles.
Be sure to save the original parts in case you change your mind. They can help resale value of the vehicle or reverse buyer’s remorse should that crop up for whatever reason.
The nice thing about fiber glass is that it doesn’t rust but it’s not as impact resistant as the original steel.
For what it’s worth, I’m leaving my sheet metal alone but mine desperately needs the paint job to be refreshed.
