I have just purchased a 1969 Cougar XR-7 convertible. Does anybody have any recommendations regarding who in the Colorado Springs area is expert at working on old cougars? Thanks for any advice.
You may need to be more specific about the type of work you need done.
Good idea - thank you. I am intrested in general automotive work. Mechanical. Electrical. Not body work…
You may be surprised by how much mechanical and electrical you can actually do yourself. These cars are very easy to work on, and there are plenty of us willing to armchair some assistance.
I think Cougar Bill is nearby - someone here can verify - even Cougar Bill
Cougar Bill is in Golden Colorado.
Mechanical / Electrical are generic. Those items are not specific to any particular car. There are lots of people in COS that can help you out. If it is Cougar specific things you don’t want to or cannot handle yourself than Cougar Bill in Golden is a great choice. I had him install an AOD in my '67 and I was very, very pleased with the results. He is the kind of guy who will fix other things “while he is in there”. I was connected with the Colorado Springs Rod & Custom car club and they had lots of guys that would help me out with odd mechanical issues. Just depends on what you need and how much you want to network in the area. I can introduce you to the CSRC club if interested even though I’ve moved on to AZ, I still handle their Facebook site and website.
Tim,
Fell free to contact me thru the site or via my # I sent in private message.
Thanks, Bill
