I want to clean the rust and old paint off some eyelid cover shafts and was curious if soaking the rag joint material in the evaporust would damage the rag joint material? Any thoughts on this?
I’ve soaked several items that had rubber attached with no issues.

No. Evaporust won’t effect anything but iron or steel.
Excellent. Soaking them today.
