All,
I am relatively new to the forum, and this is my first post.
I am restoring a ‘67 std. As part of the restoration, am considering eliminating the 1/4 wind wing side windows, and using a 1 piece door window glass.
Has anyone done this, and what size glass was used?
Thanks
Ron
Morning Ron & welcome! What you suggest is a bit of a job. The glass is going to be the easiest part I believe. I personally believe the vent window is one of the “coolest” things of the 1 gen Cats!
My thoughts are pass on this idea for now & enjoy the Cat & fine tune other items to make driving it even more enjoyable!
The glass is curved so that is going to be the first issue. You will need to locate glass with the right curve and shape. I’ve done this on hot rods with flat glass. Most recently on a Studebaker pickup roadster build. It works fairly well but the glass has to be tall to keep it from moving around.
The top of the glass has a trim piece that helps seal the window. I think you’ll need to keep it
Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated.
Ron
I considered this at one point, and this was who i was looking at buying.
Thanks. Will look into it as well. What did you ultimately decide, & why?
