Wrecks to Riches

Anyone see that today, don’t know if it was a repeat but the built a 1967 Dan Gurney street legal race Cat. Pretty cool to watch :smoke:

Yup, re-run, but still cool.

Cool episode. I would like to see another show on a classic Cougar build. The Gearz Cougar with its massive Boss 9 engine has just stalled. Maybe Chop Cut and Rebuild will do a Classic Cougar.

…but they took a 68 and built it as a 67. It was a cool build though.

Season 6 of Gearz starts March 3rd. John

I hope we get at least a couple more episodes of The Interceptor.

I hope we see the Interceptor completed. It was mentioned in another thread that a lot of Gears projects never get finished. I am not sure how true that post was. I saw projects completed on the show. I will be watching for season 6.

I just saw this episode, so great to see. My favorite part was when they were disassembling it and made some comment about the ridiculous number of parts on the car, while they were showing a shot of one of the guys holding what I think was the light switch and talking about what connects where.

I have the Velocity channel on all the time. My favorites are Graveyard Carz and Wheeler Dealers, for sure. Graveyard Carz the personalities can be grating sometimes, sometimes it’s more funny, but I love the work they’re doing. And Wheeler Dealers is just so great, Edd China seems like such a cool guy and the work he does just blows me away.

Overhaulin’ I’m kinda torn on. It’s cool to see the cars they work on. But the prank aspect really isn’t something I get into, and the style of their work just isn’t for me. My wife and I have talked about it, what I would want them to do if they were going to do my car. I told her to not even think about it. I would be so sad if they subjected my cat to their process. It’s not like she could tell Foose “put in a 428 with three 2-barrels and a shaker, upgrade the rear end to a 9”, rebuild the power steering, add a chin spoiler and hood pins, replace the driver’s side floor pan, add the electronic headlight door kit, and throw a new coat of black paint on it and DO NOT mess with the body or wheels". That being said. I definitely appreciate Foose’s skill. He’s awesome at what he does. Just not my style.

Chasing Classic Cars is kinda funny and sad. Seems like he loses money or sells cars for less than he wants to more often than things work out for him. I dig some of the cars he deals with but typically they’re not muscle cars from 1969 +/- 2 years which is what I dig the most. So that show doesn’t do a ton for me.

I just realized Gearz is on the Speed channel, not Velocity, so I’ve been missing it. Got a series recording set up so I can add one more show to my roster. Nice!

I have seen this Cat and went for a ride in it. Wild and fast !!! I took pics of the car and the owner Jim is a nice guy.
