Looking to buy a Manual Control Linkage for a C6 trans. I have searched all to the part sites and none available. If you have on or known of one, please hit me up. Thanks
You might want to state for what year and how much of it you need.
I need the whole thing. Some jack leg put a C6 in the car and didn’t put the right linkage on it.
It,s a 1970 XR7351W C6.
Should have been an FMX in the car originally. Either way… Did you find the linkage you need? A long time ago I built a jig using a 1969 shift lever. This way, you can take any linkage, cut and weld to make the same shape with the hold at the correct radius. If you don’t find the correct part, we might be able to make one,
I agree on the FMX, but this is what I got. The transmission seems to be fine, but not having the right linkage on the transmission makes the shifter not work properly and it drives me nuts. If you have a solution, I’m all ears !
Have you looked here?. Kickdown Rods Galore & More They have new reproduction shifter rods as well as kick down rods.
Happy New Year to all of you Cat lovers. Still no luck on finding the correct linkage. I’ve called and/or emailed any and all people that I could find, been referred to or could possibly have any idea where I could find one. Please keep me in mind if in any of your travels, you run across anyone who knows where I could locate one. TIA
I think that the 70 T-Birds with the 429 and floor shift C6 trans would have had the shifter linkage that you are looking for. Maybe have a look at some of the T-Bird forums.
Thanks, I will try that.
Send me your shift lever. I can cut/weld to fabricate one. It won’t have a Ford part number, but it will be the proper configuration.
