X code production numbers

Were all X code cars XR7’s or G’s? I was talking about it with my brother and we cant recall ever seeing a standard Cougar with a 390-2V.

Actually very few xr7g’s were equipped with a 2V 390.

In 1968 Mercury made 1,2037 standard & 2,037 XR7 Cougars with the 390-2v X code for a total of 3,254
62 of the XR7’s were XR7 G

There is a bit of a typo there as there were 1217 standard 1968 Cougars with the X code built. The other numbers are correct.

Another question, how many X codes had sunroofs?

62 of the XR7’s were XR7 G. 19 of those XR7-G’s had no sunroof.
