Yes, another wheels thread

Which ones - 675’s or 695’s?

695, sorry.

Also, I got a call from them yesterday to tell me that the front wheels are out of stock, but will be in by tomorrow and that mine should ship the day after. He also asked if I wanted them to mount and balance them for free. However stupid I thought the question might be, I still answered “yes”. Did not know it but they also come with lugnuts too. This is turning out to be an even better deal than I thought, given that they make it here in one piece, or four, rather.

When I ordered my Legends they came with mounting, balancing and lugs too. Where’d you roder from Mike?

I figured since I got them so cheap, that all that would be on me. I am just glad they will be turnkey when I get them now.

I will let you know where I got them when I get them. I am afraid, with my luck, that I will jinx myself by saying that I am happy with them already. Let’s just say that T3 knows the place.

GOOD LORD, MAN!!! I hope they were “on the shelf”…I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Mike,

Personally, I think you should have gone a little bigger on the wheels, something along the lines of:

Would have been wicked pissah cool…

Is that Milo’s car?

You know, I thought of that, but the lift kit would have been too expensive to justify it.

Boy, wouldn’t that rile some folks up?

I can imagine those rubber bands burning up those 42’s.

wicked pissah cool…

even the dog turned over when I read that!

Well, they are finally in and on. The only thing that I am not happy about is that the lug nuts have cheap chrome on them. One of them lost all the chrome off of it as I was threading it on. They were free though, and I have no problem going and buying a good set. They came with locks nuts too, but they look goofy, so I wont be installing them. I dont really see a need for lock nuts since it stays in the garage, and is not out of my sight for more than 5 minutes. They came from onlinetires.com, and am overall pleased with them. I recieved a total of 4 calls from them with updates and was happy to hear what was going on, instead of being left in the dark on everything and just waiting for them to show up. Ok, enough jibber jabber.

I put the Shelby drop back in place, but am debating if I want to take a little more off the front coils.

And this is why you buy wheels and tires before you paint.

I will end up cutting a small sliver out of each fender and rewelding it back. I heard it rub once as I was backing out of the driveway.

It is amazing how much straighter and better it drives with new rubber.

We already know it kicks a$$. Now it’ll look good while doing it!

Thanks Jean. Now I just need to do bigger brakes and get it torn back apart and finish my welding and get it in primer. Looks like she might be down for the summer.

Looks great Mike. Full side shot pleasssse. Lower in the front is never a bad thing.

Mike, looks great! The larger tires make the car handle better than stock. SalD

Mike,

FWIW, I had the exact same problem with the front part of the fenders rubbing (or almost rubbing) with 245/45’s. How I solved it was to put 1/4" of shims behind the front UCA bolt to kick the arm back providing more positive caster, then I took a bunch out with the caster rods pushing the LCA’s back. In the end I have good positive caster (for tracking) and my wheels/tires do not rub.

Bob

Glad your experience with them was mo-betta than mine, Mike. Nary a single call, and had to fight like heck to get responses via email, even. Wheels look great, IMO, but I’m kinda partial to the grey ones!

Yeah I’m not really sure why I never thought of looking at painted ones. I guess I always thought of them being satin or something instead of gloss. I am not a huge fan of chrome, so I guess I was just more focused on trying to find polished instead, not that there is anything wrong with chrome.

I must say, I am very happy with them, and happy to see that they put clear coat on the machined part of the wheels.

And a special thanks to Ragcat for pointing me in the direction of the Ridler 695’s. I had never heard of them before (obviously have not purchased many wheels in my time) but am glad you brought them up. So thank you Chuck.

They look good…now quit spending time here, and PAINT THAT CAR!!! :poke:

Good choice and they really look nice with the 70’s lines.
