I received these parts in one of my latest NOS shipments. I have no idea what they are for, or if they are even applicable to my car ( 1969 Cougar ). They came with a set of NOS shocks - Autolite, obviously.
They are Autolite hardware # ( kit ) : 377400-S-8, and are a pair of rather thick plated washers, 3" in dia. and close to 1/8" thick.
I don’t think they are part of the shock absorber set-up, as I can’t see them in the L-M or Ford MPC diagrams. I also did an internet search and nothing came up ( and I mean nothing ! ). Also checked with AMK , and again nothing was there in their bulk reproduced chassis washers etc. with this hardware number.
Any ideas ? They almost look like they were used for the body-on-frame insulator mounting components or for use in attaching the truck box to the frame rails ? Thanks again for any ideas or knowledge as to their application !
