I texted you his phone number…
I need some help with the routing of the left front brake line. I have the line but the disassembler must have distorted it when he removed it prior to painting. Does anyone have a picture of where that line goes through the spring tower and attaches to the flexible line? Also when the line leaves the distribution block down to the spring tower?
1970 Eliminator, 428 CJ/4-speed close ratio, power front disc brakes.
Thanks in advance!
Yes, but not the same motor that was in it when I originally bought it (1970). Even when I bought it it was not numbers matching. Thanks for the detail!
Could it be a bracket at the lower front fender.
What would it connect to?
I checked under my car does not go there.
Chuck,
That is not a bracket that I have ever seen before so unless it is something specific for the 428 I would say that it is not a part of your car at all.

Maybe part of the California emissions set up…
Chuck,
I have seen a bracket like that before. It was a support for a Automatic collum shifter bell crank I don’t know of that is what this one is though.
Here’s a simple question.(I hope): I just replaced the floor shifter boot for the Hurst Competition Plus but I noticed that the hole for the rectangular shaped shifter is off-center and I am thinking that the proper position should be favoring the right-most side (3rd & 4th Gear position)…
Thanks! Looks like my assumption is correct.
Another quick one. I have all of the 1970 Cougar/Mustang build books and the AMK fastener book but I cannot find the part number (or description) of the nuts that hold the master cylinder to the vacuum booster. Anyone know the specs of these nuts?
Thanks for the pointer!!!
Here’s another mystery part that I need some help identifying…
One of the photos shows a piece of plastic still attached via screw and j-nut and seems to be the same sort of plastic used in the inner fender well splash pad area.
I believe that is part of the Evaporative Emission System, found on 1970 Cougars primarily sold new in California. It mounts in the trunk on the drivers side in detail section “B”
Thanks! And my car HAS the California emissions setup!
