The Registries
The XR7-G Registry There were only 619 XR7-Gs built. They were built along side the Shelby Mustang, and were available with every engine and transmission offered in 1968, (except the 427). This was the first Cougar to be a part of the Hertz Rent a Racer program. If you have any information about these rare cats, this is the place to share. The XR7-G registry is maintained by Royce Peterson. The Eliminator Registry For two years the Eliminator roamed the streets looking for prey. Although you could get an engine available from Mercury in the Eliminator, the Cobra Jet 428 and Super Cobra Jet 428 were common under the hood. This was also the only Cougar to get the Boss 302. The Eliminator Registry is maintained by Dave Wyrwas. The GT-E Registry The GT-E was only available for a few brief months in 1968. Total production would not have kept the assembly line busy for more than a half day. If you know anything about a GT-E, it is important, and this is the place to share it. The GT-E registry is maintained by Jim Pinkerton. The 1971 429 Cobra Jet Registry The last of the fire breathing big block Cougars were built in 1971. They featured the 429 Cobra Jet engine, and carried one of the highest factory horsepower ratings (370!) of any Cougar ever built. Sadly the times were not right and only a handful were built. The '71 Cobra Jet Registry is maintained by Mitch Lewis. The Master Registry This registry includes EVERY classic Cougar. Whether you Cougar is a coucours restoration, a rusty hulk or even just a door or data tag, reporting it here adds to what we know about what became of each and every Cougar. This Registry is Maintained by Phil Parcels. '69 and '70 428 Cobra Jet Registry
