1968 Cougar Suspension Help

This is going to sound akward, but I really like your rear end…. :sunglasses:

And your shiny fuel tank…. I keep having to try and convince myself that patina is where it is at…

I re-arched my springs, but only took 1.5" out of them. It worked well, but I definitely would not want to have to go 5" as you are saying. I would think new springs would be the only option there.

I’ve decided to go with a coil over rear suspension. While it’s obviously more expensive, there is no “hunt & peck” in getting close, but not exact that would have occurred with the re-arched leaf springs.
This was not one of the issues that I thought of when I was planning the project.

Whose coil over system did you purchase?

Ridetech.

Can’t tell exactly from your picture if the rubber insulators and insulator support pad are between spring and axle mounting pad. If they aren’t there then that accounts for a couple inches that height is off.

I’m sure the parts are in place properly.

on our 67, there was alot more going on where the spring and axle met. Isolation box, rubber isolator, angle wedge, etc. Thi looks kinda like mustang hardware?
