1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air Convertible

Finally getting around to starting a thread on my car. I received it in September 2025. Most of you are probably already familiar with the car as it was previously listed on BAT. Car has some serious documentation and the car is amazing shape for a 37 year old restoration by Kevin Marti.

BAT Listing:

Since I received the car I sent it to Classic Custom Restoration in Dallas, GA for a few things:

  1. Valve Cover Gaskets/Tune Up
  2. New Front Brake Calipers/Pads
  3. Rechromed Rear Bumper
  4. Fixed Transmission Leaks

Future Improvements:

  1. New Exhaust
  2. New Convertible Top

I have put just under 400 miles on it since I bought it. Brought the car out to Michael’s shop in January to show it to some of the members of the Southeast Cougar Club. He will be doing any future work to the car as he has done an amazing job restoring the interior on my M-code car.

I will continue to update this thread in the future.

Beautiful car. I contributed some parts to it when Joe was doing some upgrades to it before relisting it.

Joe did some fantastic work getting her back to original. Thank you for your contribution. Which parts did you help with?

The “Burton” stainless rocker moldings and those rare NOS blue floor mats. Hated to let those mats go but they were going to a good home.
