1970 Front Valance Installation

I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to mount the front valance on my 1970. Some times the simplest of things are the most frustrating. Does anyone have a picture of how the valance mounts? Or maybe an explanation? I understand where it bolts to the front fenders, but are there supposed to be brackets to bolt it to the rad support?

I can’t see all of what you have done in your pictures, but the center section mounts to the center grill and hood latch supports that I do not see installed. I’ll look for a picture or 2.

Edited in this info.

I know this is not showing the valance, but this is what I was talking about. Pat gives a good description of how to put this together below.

Start by 1st taking off the valance. You need to have the center supports that bolt the vacuum canister and the hood latch on the car. Next you need to have the bumper and the brackets on as well for the 2 center lower tabs on the valance . also the 2 tabs that are sticking up, when you have your gravel shield on the 2 brackets that are sticking up will bolt under the gravel shield onto them center supports…
