I’m putting a built Cleveland with a C6 into my 67 GT-XR7. Car did not come with a motor or trans, so is is not a swap as much as it is a resurrection.
WHAT RATE SPRINGS SHOUKD I GO WITH? not looking to get back end too high. Prefer a level look.
Car will be a weekend track car that gets driven on the street most of the time. Engine Builder estimates somewhere between 400 - 450 HP. Other mods: passenger side torque box, export brace, keeping FE front sway bar, TCP subframe connectors and cross-brace, weld-in back seat/trunk divider, 1” drop coil springs for front. Will add rear sway bar.
Well I will take a crack at this, you can get in touch with these people (which are great) http://www.springsnthings.com and you can use spring rate for your car as if it came with a 390 and C6 because they would be close in weight to what you want to use. Look it up and give them a call.
The GT springs are a good all-around choice.
Depending on how track focused you intend to be, you might also consider a set of Calvert Racing split mono-leaf springs. They’re available for Cougars and the rate and ride height can be customized to your car.
Speaking of Calvert Racing, a set of their CalTrac bars are beneficial for any Cougar that’s going to see track time, whichever spring you chose.
