Being a '68,did this car come with the chrome grill in the hood scoop opening or was that 69?
I don’t believe either did - there were some magazine photos of a prototype '69 Cougar with what you are describing but to the best of my knowledge it never made production.

Some early '69 CJ’s did: https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/c9wy-16a624-a.html?attribs=87 .
Cool!

It also required a special scoop that had bosses for the two screws to attach the chrome grill.
Looks fantastic. Will you be photographing the pin striping process? I am interested in that.
If it doesn’t bother him I will.
Are those rear tires a little wider than stock or is it just the picture?
All of them are Goodyear F70-14. That’s what came with it when it was new.

How’s it running ?
Jay Leno needs to drive a Cougar on “Jay Leno’s Garage” and this should be the one.

Oh yeah! That is looking awesome.
Pretty decent. I rebuilt the carburetor, fuel pump, differential, driveshaft, suspension and transmission myself.
Looks great Royce. I hope I can see it in person someday.
Looks great, missing the caution f…BLAM, BLAM,BLAM
