69 428 kickdown for C6

Hi I have a '69 with a stock 428 and C6. The mechanic found that the kickdown linkage is missing. Obviously a hard item to find. Can anybody suggest what other kickdown linkages would work. Or if you have one let me know! Thanks

According to the 1965 - 72 MPC all the 1969 Cougars with C-6 A/T used the same “Rod ( transmission kick down control shaft )” p/n : C9ZZ-7A187-B. So that would also mean the Mustangs as well, and all the 390’s and 428 versions. That would make it a bit easier to find a used one. They are listed in the MPC as 20" long - silver. The other rods for the C/M and C-4 transmissions are not the same length ( shorter or longer ). West coast classic shows they have reproduction and used for both the 390 and the 428. USED 390 = 358.88 / REPRO 390 = 107.87 and for the 428 USED = 523.89 and REPRO = 197.87. I’m not sure why they are showing different prices, as the MPC indicates they are the same part #. But you never know, as a service part it’s possible it’s a more generic Ford ‘expanded application’ part that fits both, and that might NOT be what was installed on these two engines at the time of assembly. A good question to ask the resident ‘carcheologist’ at WCCC.
There are also the reproductions available from : https://www.kickdownrods.com/
They have the 428 CJ and SCJ starting at 150 dollars.

Looks just like the one on my '69 428 Cougar. Good luck with the search and acquisition !
