70 xr-7 resurrection

I haven’t had an issue but looking back at it all of my lowering has been 5/8" from the Shelby drop and 3/4" from 235R60-14 tires. The initial 1" from the spring change came out with 1" spring insulators after the initial replacement rubber ones disintegrated and I found the car too low.
Thanks.

I have the Shelby drop built into sbc uppers and global west springs. I was also combating a rise from the 26” tall tire/wheel combo.

Global West’s S26 springs should lower your front about another 1", plus the 1/2" or so of the SPC’s built in Arning drop with the upper control arms. Bet it handles really nicely. Did the Global West lower arms move the location of the lower spindle center back any? Did you do anything different with the lower control strut rods or strut rod end bushings? Is that front sway bar a 1", or a bit larger?

Yeah the ride height is pretty low….enough to need bump steer kit. Pretty sure the sway is 1.125”. Lower control arms are global west which I believe use all stock locations. The uppers have 3 degrees of caster build in which helps with radial tires. I used a harder durometer rubber bushing on the strut rods. Pretty sure those came from global west catalog. It handles great and goes thru corners completely flat. Wish the steering gear was even a quicker ratio than the 14:1 in the borgeson box which is way better than stock 18:1. I would prefer 12:1 or so, but it might be too twitchy on center…

Time for an update…retired life hasn’t given me as much free time in the garage as I’d hoped for. Finally working the body over. Starting with the passenger door and repairing 40 year old damage from a jealous ex girlfriend…
