Barn finds are still out there!!! Local Snap On Tool dealer delivers...

A local tool lealer who happens to own a nice 72 makes a delivery and when they pop open the barn door he spies this in the back corner sitting since 84! No rust, hoping it cleans up to driver quality. The guy is the second owner after Hertz, parked it when it needed a couple repairs and somehow it got turned into a table. Over the years a mail carrier, Furnace repair guy and even a Chimney Sweep (Brian Austs GTE) have led me to the honey hole. It pays to know people in low places and listen to far fetched stories sometimes!

That looks like a possible reference car Don. Looks complete and un-monkeyed with.

Nice find!

Send me the VIN please Don.

Oh that’s cool! Great find!

Very cool!

Great find! Looking forward to progress and updates.

Engine compartment looks mostly unmolested other than uni - fit upper radiator hose and busted fan shroud and the typical gas station heater hose flush fitting. If possible Don I would like a photo of the AC tag and if it has one the guard over the AC / Heater hose area that is normally seen on non - AC cars but has been seen on some AC cars.

Would be great if you could bring it to MCACN exactly as found.

Too tempting to jump right into fuel system, brake and coolant system renew but yeah, that would be a fun display.

Very cool find. Can I get in line when it goes up for sale?

No. You have to finish one or two before you buy any more.

This is the year for MCACN’s Hertz themed exhibit - that car would be ideal as is.

Royce:

Too bad our 1985 Mustang SVO won’t be ready. Originally a Hertz rental in Dallas, one of 4 remaining in Dark Sage Green (4E) paint.

Hey I’m making progress. Sure it’s slow…

I’ll give you $1k for that piece of junk. You pay shipping as well.

Deal?

That is very cool, Don. Congratulations, we are all jealous.
