Barn finds are still out there!!! Local Snap On Tool dealer delivers...

Awesome!

I would imagine it is new to the Registry Royce?

Don, I can set you up with Bob Ashton if you want to do the barn find display at MCACN. I think Diego Rosenberg was working on the Hertz or the 428CJ display.
Lots of funk going on but, I bet it cleans up descent. Looks like all original paint yet? To much surface rust on the hood/top of fenders to totally save the paint. Another nice find :sunglasses:

I dig the trailer hitch!

Never been reported previously.

The ‘Barn Find Gods’ just let me find 4 door Buick, Ply mouth Belvedere, cutlass ciera. :frowning:

I found my 69 S code 4 speed sunroof Cougar for $7500 in a machine shed in Palmdale Ca. and my 68 S code Cyclone GT factory show unit for $9000 at estate sale also in Palmdale Ca. My Hemi Challenger in Sun City Ca. Parked at the curb with 2 inches of dust on it with a 4 sale sign laying on the dash. Great Buy at the estate auction for $1350 many years back. So deals are still out there. Altho It seems harder every year. I was just looking at and decided to pass on a 66 T-bird Q code for $6000.

Very Cool find, The hunt is always exhilarating with something like this.

I often wonder what the next generation of cars will be the barn finds of the future…

it will read something like this: “Barn find Dodge Challenger Hell cat red eye. Does anybody have the correct gas so I can get it started or should I just buy the kit and do the electric conversion”. :unamused:

MercuryDon,
I’m just going to say what many of us are thinking. If you plan to buy up all the rust free cougars and hoard them then please consider adopting me.

What a dream find!

I guess I’m getting old as I see a lot of work there. Even so, congrats on the find Don, I hope it will be restored to former glory one day.

ya know your on to something there…

I was thinking a little more current as in 80-90s era cars. Pulling out crown vics and honda accords yet?

Don I was looking at your Marti but it’s disappeared, I’m envious of your clout, Marti for a month says they don’t have time to process my request, any ways nice find.

Hertz XR7-G Marti Report
Interesting that it has an Oakland DSO 53, but was sold at a Dealership in Seattle, which is DSO 54.

Yes unless I’m loosing my mind, it was a pdf ? no idea.

Maybe it was originally sent to Oakland area for rental but migrated through rental to Seattle before being removed from fleet and sold to private party?

Maybe someone rented the car one-way from the bay area.
Here is a rental card from Florida, dated Nov. 1968.

Sweet find! Will be fun to see what you do with it.

I was mistakenly under the impression that all 188 H cars were optioned the same. All of my previous Hertz Cars had AM-8-Track, this one is AM only. I wonder what the ratio was?

I always assumed the Hertz cars were all optioned the same as well but with just an AM radio.
