Barn finds are still out there!!! Local Snap On Tool dealer delivers...

All the Marti reports are identical except color. Not aware of any with 8 track are you sure?

The last one I had was equipped with 8 track so it must have been added. Ones memory gets foggy on the details!

Replacing a grille half, fog light, bumper and a little more clean up to go before I let her go. I am thinking about putting it on bring a trailer for one dollar no reserve but I am open to offers if you want to catch me before I do that. I think it is worth more than $23k and less than $28k. I may be out of touch on pricing, chime in? If someone made a VERY large order on my website I would probably be inclined to let it go for less than $28k. The car has 84K original miles and needs a ground up resto. Often I will get a car like this road worthy but this one needs too much attention! The good news is the tank is shiny clean! Bad new is even though it was driven into the barn years ago and started every once in awhile, it just goes click when you turn the key. Smog pump is stuck and oil pan has a HUGE dent. As-Is, comes with the famous WCCC Taillight warranty with the official poo logo stamp.

You make it sound so appealing! The interior looks pretty nice except the seat covers and the console pad. Wish I had the extra cash laying around I’d be all over this.

Just noticed this, but why is the lower dash red? That’s not a G feature is it? Previous owner mod/resto?

Looks like someone painted the lower dash and the console base. Normally those are black on an XR-7 in '68.

Don, a very detailed video on exactly what an XR7-G Cougar is would be wonderful.

In a perfect world it would be great to have Royce participate also.

A Black Cherry Hertz G is THE classic XR7-G configuration IMHO.

This one came factory with a red lower dash.

Wish we had a video guy… Looking for a younger guy that is familiar with tech but has a liking for old school stuff. Must be willing to working in Oregon and receive bonuses in crypto. Bonus if said guy owns a Cougar and has accomplished an award winning ground up resto on it.

That’s really bizarre! Someone has a quandary on their hands deciding to keep the factory mistake or make it conform to what is considered “normal”. I think I would document the heck out of it and keep it that way.

I’ll let you know if I think of anyone who fits that description!

:open_mouth:

I could not help myself, I had to run the buffer over it to see what it would look like. This is the epitome of polishing a turd!

…the epitome of polishing a turd!

Yeah, but it’s one top-rank turd!!!

That buffing job should yield at least another $5k at BAT!

Very happy with Mid Walley Paintless Dent Removal. This door was pretty much caved in and he was able to save it in four hours. Most body men will not even attempt that!

One of these days I’d like to see how that is done !

Ha - I would have done the same thing! I guess if nothing else, the gloss makes it easier to spot damage or putty underneath the paint. Wish I had the funds to adopt that cat.

Don:
That effort by the Paintless Dent guy was very nice indeed! Having dabbled in that as an amateur, I can say that it does require a fair amount of experience, knowledge, and patience. Job well done and worth every penny!
