thanks roman . im sure its the same for a 69 . i really appreciate it .

if i have any questions would i be able to talk to you .

Fits on the frame rail perfectly. Input shaft sits way closer to the steering column. Will take column tubes being cut. When you slide the shaft in you lose the tension of the nylon slack removers unless you have the inside shaft milled to accept them further up the shaft. This is on my 70.

i see you don’t have the hydraulic control valve . is that eliminated ? also the hydraulic ram cylinder .

With the Borgeson setup, the power assistance is integrated in the steering box. That’s why it is larger than the factory gearbox.

can i reuse the original drag link , or does that also have to be deleted and swapped out for a manual one .

Use the power steering drag link and get the adapter…it’s about $150

thanks guys for your help

does the steering column shaft have to be modified ?

Kinda hard to see but it’s all in there. I’m running an Ididit column

The 69 column is collapsible as a safety feature so the common practice is to tap it with a hammer to compress it until you can fit the rag joint. There are plastic bushings in there so some caution against the hammer method since they can be damaged and induce some feeling of play. Mine is compressed and I haven’t experienced any issues. My only bother is that it gets very hot next to the exhaust manifold and since the PS fluid is flowing through it my fluid was getting thin, the pump would whine loudly, and I would loose boost. I ended up putting a woven heat shielding sleeve around the bottom part of the manifold and a foot or so of the exhaust pipe which has helped.

thanks roman for taking the time to send the pics . nice work .

thanks knight for the information on collapsing the column shaft .

No problem!! I did experience the same wine sound when it got hot because of where I had to route the lines, but after doing the heat wrap that is all but gone. Mines got an aftermarket power steering pump and reservoir.

Speaking from experience, just get the borgeson version of the Saginaw pump. The ford Thompson pump doesn’t have the pressure or volume for anything near full assist a idle

I have the Borgeson Saginaw pump, but there is dang near zero air gap anywhere around a 351 in the engine bay. Here are photos to show how tight things are and the sleeve I added.

68DGS347, What steering wheel are you using? Do you have any difficulty with the horn contacts or turn signal cancellation?

I am running a MPI steering wheel with an Ididit tilt steering column. No issues with horn contact or turn signals.
