Hey guys and gals. My name is Joe and I am working over at WCCC. I am developing new parts for your Cat to make it handle better and drive nicer. What do you guys think about this one. If I could offer you a kit cheap enough, would you want to box your lower control arms? You probably would not notice any difference in handling if you were just going out for a sunny Sunday cruise, but it would make a difference if you were out hammering the twisties. Any feedback? What do you think about this?
Sounds good to me.
You may want to do a science to show how torsional and longitudinal rigidity are improved. You know, like a video of one bending under stress and then not bending once welded.
Many people have no idea how flexy the stamped arms are.
That’s some great insight Cougarshaman. You are right, the lower control arm can definitely get a bit floppy under certain conditions.
Maier Racing has been offering boxed lower control arms for many years. I run them on my '70.
